Opaline d'Ouilly, a daughter of the excellent Uzelien (Muguet du Manoir) who unfortunately died very young, and of Cassandre du Fief (by Narcos II), was bred at a stud typified by such horses as Jubilee d'Ouilly and Kronos d'Ouilly. The uterine sister of her mother, Geolinote du Fief, competed with Patrice Delaveau and Nicolas Delmotte (winning more than 40,000 euros). Opaline comes from a family that is well represented in the international competition world, a family which has produced numerous stallions. Having been damaged at birth herself, and kept in plaster for months, she was not able to compete.

Opaline d'Ouilly

On the 12th of June 2006, as a four year old, Opaline gave us a very nice filly, Serena Morinda. Unfortunately she was born chestnut and not coloured but she is nevertheless very well made with an excellent character and lots of energy. Serena was sold to Corsica where she has competed at 1.15m and won at 1.10m. A particularly easy mare, she was bought again by an amateur in 2013.

In 2007 Opaline was covered by Mylord Carthago, a well known international winner. On the 25th of May 2008 she gave birth to UNE LADY MORINDA, a magnificent filly who has turned out to be a grey just like her father. When she was born she was the colour of a mole, a little later she was a strawberry roan (in the process of becoming grey) and one thing we can be sure of - is that her mother found her very pretty. After weaning she grew like Topsy! In 2013, Une Lady, now five years old, is starting to compete and bringing happiness to her owner.

In 2008 Opaline was covered again by the homozygote stallion Ringo and in 2009 we obtained the very gentle VOSTOCK MORINDA, who is just as full of life as Une Lady. In 2013 Vostock is proving to have an extraordinary power and massive jump. Having competed in only one round (going clear) of the Four Year Old "Training", he will not compete again this year to save him for when he is 17.2hh. We are going to allow him to develop in peace.

We had passed Opaline on to a Lycee Agricole where she had produced two other colts and a filly by a pony stallion, but as we had the opportunity to buy her back, we didn't hesitate.

In 2013 she was covered by the homozygous CEASAR, the full brother of Ringo. We are hoping that the product of this alliance, born on the 18th of April 2014 and named Carpe Diem Morinda Z, will be as strong, supple and nimble as Vostock in whom we deeply believe in. Carpe Diem was sold virtually straight away to Louise for whom it was truly love at first sight when she saw him : in fact it was she who chose his name.

Opaline was inseminated again by Ceasar and gave birth on the 12th of July to a full brother of Carpe Diem Z. Welcome to Conquerant Morinda Z, who greatly resembles his brother..
