Vulcain Morinda whose trajectory since foalhood you can follow (by reading the second part of this page) was bought as a three year old by Celine Schmitt with the intention that he would compete in Dressage. As well as his paces she very much liked his steady character: Vulcain fears nothing and is always calm and quiet.

Our colt is much admired by the judges: at the SHF Label du Lion d'Angers he scored 71.1%, which is a huge score for a four year old, who is not even a German horse. He is qualified for Saumur but he won't be going as he measures 1.76m (17.2hh) and he will therefore be taking the rest of the season off.

Vulcain Morinda is the first colt from our stud who has taken up Dressage. And without doubt he will not be the last, having seen the paces many of our colts are showing.

Here is the story of Vulcain since his birth:

This superb big colt by Ringo and out of Kyrielle de Crasset (by Obéron du Moulin) was born on the 11th of April 2009. We were surprised at his size. Kyrielle being a maiden mare, who was never big during her gestation, we were thinking that we would have a medium sized colt.

With little hesitation, we have named him Vulcain Morinda since not only has this colt got huge ears (in proportion with his size) but he also has a very calm personality, although this doesn’t prevent him from being full of energy and pzazz. He reminds us of the famous Vulcan Mr Spock from the Star Trek series, from the planet of the same name. Vulcans are wise men who never lose their cool. What a good plan for a future competition horse!

Vulcain is the most adorable colt you could possibly imagine. Straight away he was at ease with people, naturally confident and very gentle. He is truly sweet, curious, with no sign of bad temper. He plainly wants to be friends with everyone.

Ringo has apparently given him, along with his colour, his excellent character and paces. We notice too, that once more, Ringo, who is himself only 1.62m, always produces big colts. Not one amongst them is small and not a single one has any bad characteristics. But nevertheless, these are very decisive and strong willed (see Une Py Morinda) babies.
